I was laying in the dark and
glanced over at my Mac. It has a built in breathing light (a small light grows
brighter and dimmer as to simulate breathing) pretty cool concept. Anyways, as
it was going from bright to dim I started to think about when I first got my
Mac.
It was the coolest thing! All
the new features, things to explore and learn. Then I started to think about
when I got my iPhone. How cool it was and all the new features and so on. It
seems after a while, some of those things become less and less noticeable,
until you step back and look at them and remember how neat the gadgets really
are and how much easier it seemed to make life.
Think back when you got a new
gadget, a new camera, blue-ray, fancy clothes, computer, phone, anything for
that matter. Think how excited you were, how you couldnt wait to plug it in,
unwrap it, open it up, for some- even read the instructions. For a small time
period, whether hours or days, thats all you could think about. You probably couldnt
wait to get home from work to enjoy what ever you just purchased.
Now, take that same
happiness, that same joy, that same feeling you felt as when you first laid eyes on
your new found gadget. What if we had that same feeling everyday we woke up?
Everyday we knew we could witness to someone? Everyday we new God had us here
for at least one more day? Everyday we could grow closer to our creator?
Everyday He could use us for one more ___________(you fill in the blank).
What if we carried that out
through our friendships? Our marriages? Our relationships w/ our kids and parents?
If everyday we approached everything like it was that new thing we just got, w/
that much zeal and excitement?
Do you think we could change
the place we live, work, hang, eat, and worship?
